The Aeyo Valley Offbeat Trail is more than just a trek. It’s an immersive journey through the heart of the Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary, offering a rare blend of natural beauty, wildlife encounters, and cultural richness. As you traverse grasslands, rainforests, alpine forests, and towering rocky mountains, every step reveals a new facet of this untouched paradise.

Day-by-Day Itinerary


Day 1: Anini to Maple Forest Camp (5-6 km)

Your journey begins with a morning travel from Anini to Bruni ITBP Camp, covering approximately 65 km by vehicle. After an early breakfast in Anini, enjoy sightseeing of the valley and numerous waterfalls en route to Bruni. From Bruni, trek to Maple Forest Camp.


Day 2: Maple Forest Camp to Pomo Waterfall Camp (4-5 km)

After breakfast at the camp and packing lunch for the journey, head towards Pomo Waterfall Camp. En route, visit Phiri Waterfall, Pomo 1 Grassland, and Ambe Aheko, the grazing ground of the Mishmi Takin.


Day 3: Pomo Waterfall Camp to Zawru-Aeyo Confluence Camp (4-5 km)


Enjoy breakfast at the camp before trekking to Zawru-Aeyo Confluence Camp. The day includes sightseeing of the Zawru and Aeyo river confluence and the Aeyo Waterfall.

Day 4: Zawru-Aeyo Confluence Camp to Aeyo Lake 2 Camp (4-5 km)


Trek to Aeyo Lake 2 Camp, the last camping destination, with opportunities for photography at Aeyo Lakes 1 and 2 and sightseeing along Aeyo Valley and lakes. All meals will be provided at the camp.


Day 5: Aeyo Lake 2 Camp to Aeyo Lake 4 and Aeyo Island (2-3 km)


After breakfast and packing lunch, trek to Aeyo Lake 4 and Aeyo Island. Return to Aeyo Lake 2 Camp for the night.


Day 6: Return to Pomo Waterfall Camp (9-10 km)

Begin your return journey from Aeyo Lake 2 Camp to Pomo Waterfall Camp.


Day 7: Pomo Waterfall Camp to Bruni, Anini (9-10 km)

Complete the trek from Pomo Waterfall Camp to Bruni, where a car will pick you up for the return trip to Anini. Enjoy dinner at Mishmi Hills Resort, Anini.


Important Notes

  • Gumboots are essential due to marshy trek routes.

  • Warm jackets and rain jackets are necessary.

  • Inform us of any food preferences or allergies in advance.

  • Bring your own sleeping bag.

  • Carry alcohol as preferred for the cold at high altitudes.
