Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday launched the ‘Trans Arunachal Drive 2021’ in Namsai district.
Intending to promote and create awareness around Arunachal Pradesh while also inviting tourists to the Covid-19 free state, Trans Arunachal Drive 2021 flagged off a road trip from Namsai in the eastern part of the state which will end in Tawang in the west.
The exciting ‘Trans Arunachal Drive 2021’ has been sponsored by the Arunachal government as part of its ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ campaign to promote tourism and develop tourist circuits in the state.
The state tourism department launched the ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ campaign in March this year to revive the state’s ailing tourism sector that has been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.
As part of the campaign, 60 participants divided in three groups embarked on a 10-day journey to different tourist places in western, eastern and central Arunachal to learn about the local culture, food habits and tourism prospects. The tourism department will incorporate the suggestions of the participants regarding various issues in its different tourism promotion activities.
