Discover the wild, remote and culturally rich side of Eastern Arunachal Pradesh with the Namdapha, Pangsau Pass & Longding Expedition, a 7-day/6-night journey through rainforest wilderness, historic WWII sites, the India–Myanmar border and the tribal heartland of Arunachal Pradesh.
The expedition begins at Dibrugarh and takes you to Miao and Deban, the gateway to Namdapha National Park, where you can experience guided rainforest walks, birdwatching, butterfly trails and the region’s remarkable biodiversity.
The journey then continues through Jairampur and Manmao towards Nampong, combining scenic eastern Arunachal landscapes with history and culture. Along the way, visit the historic WWII Cemetery at Jairampur and travel through the Manmao Tea Belt.
A major highlight is the excursion to Pangsau Pass, located along the India–Myanmar border. Drive along the historic Stilwell Road, explore the Lake of No Return (Pangsau Lake) subject to authority clearance, and discover the fascinating WWII history associated with this remote frontier region.
From Nampong, the expedition moves through the Changlang and Tirap regions to Khonsa and onward to Longding, home of the Wancho tribe. Traditional villages, village walks and opportunities to interact with local communities offer an immersive introduction to the tribal culture of eastern Arunachal Pradesh.
This Namdapha and Pangsau Pass tour is ideal for travelers looking beyond conventional Arunachal Pradesh itineraries and seeking a combination of nature, wildlife, WWII history, border landscapes, tribal culture and remote-road exploration. The expedition concludes with a drive from Longding back to Dibrugarh Airport/Railway Station on Day 7.

- After arrival at Dibrugarh Airport/Railway Station, begin your journey towards Miao, the gateway to Namdapha National Park. Visit the Mini Zoo and Namdapha Interpretation Centre and explore the Tibetan Refugee Settlement Camp.
- Continue your scenic drive into Namdapha National Park through the forest and reach Deban. Check in to your forest lodge and relax amidst the pristine wilderness of Namdapha.
